Family pay tribute to their ‘bright star’ killed in motorcycle crash

A man who was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Coventry last month has died.

Jack Simpson was riding his motorcycle along Antsy Road into the city on Sunday 4 December when he was involved in a collision with a taxi at the Hipswell Highway Junction.

The 18-year-old sustained very serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he sadly died on 6 January.

Jack’s family have paid tribute to him. They said: “We’ve lost a bright star following a road traffic collision; but his light will live on as a result of the organs he has donated to help others.

“We, as a family, ask for privacy to grieve at this difficult time.”

The driver of the taxi is helping police with enquiries however officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact PC Stuart Thorpe at the Collision Investigation Unit on 0121 322 6098.
