Wanted people to feature in new online photo gallery
A new picture gallery has launched today to help West Midlands Police track down those people who are wanted for various offences across the region.
Across all of its social media accounts the force has more than 550,000 followers, likes and subscribers on platforms including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
The new gallery, which replaces the former wanted web page, is hosted on picture sharing site Flickr where the force has already notched up almost four million views.
The previous wanted gallery on the force website had already resulted in more than 100 arrests in just two years.
Last month a Caught on Camera photo gallery for CCTV images was set-up – in just four weeks since then the force Flickr page has been seen more than 700,000 times.
Dan Barton, Head of Corporate Communications at West Midlands Police, said: “We are always looking to build on our successes and while the wanted page had proved effective we believe this new gallery will help us to track down even more offenders.
“The new gallery will work seamlessly with our existing social media accounts and means we can use our established Facebook and Twitter communities to help us find these wanted people.”
