Man admits causing death by dangerous driving in Hall Green

A Birmingham man has today admitted causing death by dangerous driving after a woman was killed in a Hall Green collision last year.

Saqib Hussain, from Alexander Road in Acocks Green, appeared at court today charged with causing the death of 49-year-old Noreen Ryan on 26 August 2013.

The court heard Hussain crashed his Audi R8 into a Ford Fiesta carrying Noreen in Shaftmoor Lane; the driver of the Fiesta and a passenger in the Audi suffered multiple serious injuries in the collision.

The 24-year-old computer engineer initially fled the scene but was arrested when he handed himself in at a police station later the same night.

Appearing at Birmingham Crown Court this morning (4 August), he pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and whilst uninsured, causing serious injury to two other people by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.

He will be sentenced on 15 September.
