Appeal for witnesses to fatal M6 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision which took place on the M6 motorway yesterday (Sunday 6 July).

Two vehicles were involved in the collision just before 5am on the M6 northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a near Solihull and Coleshill.

A white Audi Q7 and an LGV goods vehicle were involved in the collision. The male passenger travelling in the Audi received fatal injuries. His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers. The male driver of the car and the male driver of the goods vehicle have been taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The motorway was closed for some time after the collision but is due to re-open shortly.

PC Adam Green from the Regional Collision Unit at Perry Barr said: "The collision happened just before 5am yesterday morning, we are appealing for any witnesses to contact us on 101 as soon as possible."
