Parents charged with murdering baby son


A mother and father have today (12 June) been charged with the murder of their 22-month-old son, Levi Blu Cassin, who died in Castle Bromwich last February. 
Levi Blu CassinMark Piper and Danielle Cassin have been remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (13 June). 
Piper, 31, of Helmes Close, Handsworth Wood and Cassin, 26, of Frensham Close, Chelmsley Wood are also accused of neglect and causing or allowing the death of a child. 
Levi was found dead by paramedics at an address on Nightingale Avenue, Castle Bromwich on the morning of 20 February 2013. 
A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of substantial abdominal injuries.
