Men hand themselves in following sex assault appeal

Two men have handed themselves in to police after detectives issued a CCTV appeal yesterday (Wednesday 26 August) in relation to a sexual assault in Rednal.
 
The images were released after a woman was attacked in taxi in the early hours of Sunday 29 June after leaving the Old Hare and Hounds pub on Lickey Road.

Birmingham man jailed for stealing car with toddler inside

A Birmingham man has been jailed for more than seven years after car-jacking an Audi with a toddler inside − and then dropping the boy through a window on realising he was still strapped in his child seat.

Lee Southall (pictured), of no fixed address, stole the car in Francis Road, Stechford, last September having flagged it down on the pretence of asking for directions. On Friday (Aug 22) he was jailed for seven-and-a-half years.

Sisters embark on new career in Korea

Two West Midlands Police Spaniels are swapping Solihull for Seoul as they help protect South Korea’s buildings from the threat of troublesome termites.

While their four legged colleagues may be more accustomed to helping officers sniff out weapons, drugs, cash, stolen items or explosives, Olivia and Oxo have made the 5,500 mile journey to Asia to sniff-out the destructive insects.

Motorcyclist killed in Kitts Green collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Birmingham at the weekend. 
 
The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Packington Avenue in Kitts Green just before 8pm on Sunday (24 August).
