Misconduct hearings

Since 1 May 2015 police misconduct and special case hearings have been held in public in accordance with new national legislation. The change was introduced to increase transparency, accountability and public confidence.

PC Khan stored items of police property in his personal vehicle and personal address

Applied for a policy of insurance for a motor vehicle and provided inaccurate information. Thereafter obtaining a financial benefit

Provided inaccurate information in relation to his home address and submitted an inaccurate vetting form

Conditions placed by Chair

Members of the public and press may be excluded from part of this hearing

In accordance with the Police (Conduct) Amendment Regulations 2015 the Legally Qualified Chair appointed from a list maintained by the Police and Crime Commissioner. This appointment is independent of West Midlands Police.

In accordance with the regulations the outcome will also be published.

Gross Misconduct

Officer manoeuvred a police vehicle onto the wrong side of the road, into the oncoming path of another vehicle causing them to collide.

Officers gave an inaccurate and misleading account of the incident.

Conditions placed by Chair

In accordance with the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012 (as amended) the Legally Qualified Chair has been appointed from a list maintained by the Police and Crime Commissioner. This appointment is independent of West Midlands Police.
