Project Argus
Aimed predominantly at the town/city-centre retail sector, West Midlands Counter Terrorism Security Advisors invite companies to attend briefings to help them prepare for potential major incidents.
A multi-media presentation takes delegates through a theoretic situation, explaining how the incident would be approached by the emergency services. The effects and possible consequences of such actions are then discussed.
Representatives from the Fire and Ambulance services attend Argus events, along with Army bomb disposal experts.
Participants are also invited to consider and debate the potential long-term impact on their businesses with the view to drawing up continuity plans.
Argus was launched in 2006 and is now undergoing an expansion to cover other areas of commerce.
