Neighbourhood Watch and Other Watch Schemes

Whether you have a lot of time, or only a little, want to join a scheme or set one up yourself, it can all make a difference.

  • The National Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN) Website.
  • You can register to receive information, news and events by registering your interest on this site.
  • You do not have to become a member of NHW in order to do this.

Joining a scheme

When you become part of a Neighbourhood Watch, you don’t sign up to a specific programme. Every scheme is different because each is run by and for the members of its community, to meet that community’s specific needs.

To find your nearest Neighbourhood Watch groups or to find out how to contact the local scheme coordinators please click on the link to your local neighbourhood policing team. Alternatively you can contact your local community partnerships officer by clicking on the link here.

For more information about starting your own scheme you can click on the link to the National Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN).

There are many other types of Watch Schemes in addition to Neighbourhood Watch. Examples of alternative watch schemes are “Business Watch” “Canal Watch”. For further information about these schemes please speak to your local community partnerships officer or your local neighbourhood team officers.
