Preventing crime, protecting the public and helping those in need
Every year West Midlands Police run a number of campaigns aimed at reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the region. These campaigns may be targeted at victims, people who could become victims or offenders – or all three.
Examples of recent campaigns in the West Midlands include tackling potential offenders of rape and serious sexual assault, supporting victims of domestic abuse and helping to raise awareness of the simple measures residents can take to help stop burglars in their tracks.
West Midlands Police uses a variety of methods to communicate these messages, depending on the audience. These methods vary - from the use of social media, video, outdoor billboards, public transport and radio advertising, to community posters, awareness raising events and local leaflets.
