Duo arrested after woman run over in Dudley carjacking

Two Dudley men have spent the night in police custody after a woman was forced from her car, run over and left at the side of a Kingswinford road in the early hours of this morning (27 April).

The wreckage of the 26-year-old’s Ford Mondeo was found a short time later, crashed into parked cars on Dibdale Road.

Vatican medal stolen in sneak-in theft

Detectives are investigating the theft of a Benemerenti medal after a burglar sneaked into the home of a man in Clarence Street, Upper Gornal on the afternoon of Friday 17 April.

The medal is an honour awarded by the Pope to members of the clergy for service to the Catholic Church.

Pair jailed over string of West Midlands burglaries

Two burglars have been jailed for over eight years after admitting a string of break ins at homes across the Black Country and Birmingham.

Abid Khan and Daniel Johnson appeared before Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (21 April) where they were sentenced for a conspiracy to carry out a series of burglaries during 2013, having pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

Police appeal to trace men wanted for car assault

Police have released images of two men they would like to speak to after a woman was assaulted in a car being driven from Smethwick to Telford. 

The woman was forced into a car on Middlemore Road around 6.30pm on Friday 13 March and dropped off in Telford where the men entered a boxing club in Donnington.

Man to appear in court after morris dancers injured in Walsall

A man will appear in court to hear allegations his dog bit two morris dancers during a procession in Walsall town centre on Friday (24 April).

Matthew Spooner, of Burrows Street, has been charged with two counts of being in charge of a dog dangerously of control.

Force strikes deal with Search & Rescue specialists

West Midlands Police has teamed up with some of the region’s most experienced Search & Rescue specialists to bolster its missing people investigations. 

The force has struck an agreement with four specialist volunteer groups − Search & Rescue Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Severn and Central − to offer expert support when officers are called to search open land.

Parka-wearing attacker sought after student slashed at club night

Images have been released of man wearing a distinctive fur-lined parka coat who police need to trace after a student was slashed with a knife during a university night in Birmingham city centre.

The 18-year-old student was on Broad Street when he was attacked, in the early hours of Thursday 26 March.

More arrests made in Watford fan assault investigation

Police have arrested two more men in connection with the assault on Watford FC fan Nic Cruwys.

The men - both aged 18 and from the Wednesfield area - were arrested on 21 and 22 April on suspicion of wounding and violent disorder.

Police reassure public after Northfield disorder

Police have launched an investigation after reports that shots were fired during disorder in Northfield in the early hours of this morning (April 25).

Officers were called to Lockwood Road just before 1.30am after a window was smashed and around an hour later a man arrived at hospital with an injury to his face.

Police in Birmingham have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to about a robbery at Next in Small Heath. 

Staff were threatened with a knife into opening the office before a quantity of cash was stolen from the safe.

Former police officer sentenced for drug dealing

Three men, including a former West Midlands Police officer, have today (Friday 24 April) been sentenced to over 21 years in prison for drug dealing on a commercial scale.

In total, investigating officers recovered over four kilos of cocaine worth £712,000 from the men, which they had hidden in a house, in a car boot and even in their clothing.
